Best deals for cheap cars

September 14th, 2009

If you are like most people, then you don’t have a lot of money to throw into a car. When your children start driving, it makes no sense to get a brand new .car for them. They need to be aware of their driving surroundings and if you get them a used car, you can rest easy because then you will not be spending $1500 or more for another car when they hit something or something else happens to the car like it breaks down because the motor blew up or something like that happens.

In order to find the best deals that are out there when you are looking for a used car is to stop looking at the dealerships and look for private owners. Private owners will be more willing to work with you and not just after your money. You can always talk to a private owner to see if you can make payments if you don’t have all of the money for the car the day you go to see the car. Most times they will still let you take the car home, all you need to do is to make the payments and the car is yours.

Another way to get a a good deal on a used car is to look over the engine and the body of the car. Not to nitpick the car to death but if you notice some blemishes or the car seems to be leaking anything, tell the owner and tell them that you wont pay that much for this car. If the owner is honest about that, then he/she will knock some money off the price of the car. Also if the car has some other issues like starting of when it starts, it makes a funny noise, then you can get some money knocked off the price they are asking for it. When you start it up and it is knocking, if you think you know what it is then don’t get the car, you will be sticking more money into the car than it is worth.
